UMD acceptance with ADHD
Working with Alex from June to October transformed my SAT score from 1260 to 1370 and opened doors I never expected. As a student with ADHD at Jackson-Reed High School, I wasn't sure online SAT tutoring would work for me, but Alex's approach definitely exceeded my expectations for what was possible to achieve through an online program.
Alex's unique, personalized, and specific approach using spreadsheets allowed me to work on almost every weakness I had. Having ADHD made it challenging to stay organized with traditional prep methods, but his spreadsheet system broke everything down in a way that actually worked with how my brain processes information. This wasn't just generic test prep - it was tailored specifically to my learning style and challenges.
The 110-point improvement I achieved over 4 months was game-changing. This jump in score allowed me to bypass an additional supplemental essay to Indiana University, since people who score a 1370 or up don't have to write it. But more importantly, it opened up scholarship opportunities I never thought were possible.
Alex's method went beyond just improving test scores - it taught me study strategies that I'm now using successfully at the University of Maryland, where I ultimately enrolled. His online format was perfect for my schedule and learning needs, and I felt like I was getting the same personalized attention as in-person tutoring.
I would definitely recommend Alex to anyone in need of SAT tutoring, especially students with ADHD or other learning differences who need a more structured, individualized approach.
