NYC Lab School to Binghamton University

Working with Alex transformed my entire college application experience and helped me get accepted to all 8 schools I applied to, including my dream school Binghamton University for their chemistry program. As a student at NYC Lab School with ADHD, the college application process felt completely overwhelming until Alex broke everything down into manageable pieces.

Alex's approach was exactly what I needed. Instead of facing massive, intimidating projects, he created a detailed schedule that broke every essay draft into small, achievable tasks. This system adapted to our progress over our 9.5 months working together from April 2022 to January 2023, which was crucial for keeping me on track with my ADHD. His time management and overall strictness with deadlines was something I found very helpful - we even finished early in the year.

At the beginning, I was timid about expressing my ideas in writing and struggled to find value in my own thoughts. Alex had a unique ability to understand my way of thinking and taught me to use my thought process to my advantage. He pushed me to analyze and understand my writing while also finding its significance. Unlike previous tutors, Alex could truly connect with how my mind works and helped me transform what I saw as challenges into strengths.

By the end of our work together, my confidence had grown so much that I was writing whole drafts by myself. Alex helped me craft essays that showcased my authentic voice, including deeply personal pieces about living with OCD and my passion for chemistry. He showed me how my neurodivergent perspective could be a powerful asset in my applications.

Alex is an outstanding college consultant who understands how to work with students who think differently. His structured approach, combined with genuine understanding of ADHD challenges, made the difference between feeling overwhelmed and achieving my college dreams.
